Common sense prevails in Birmingham

Birmingham City Council ( The largest in the country) has declared that asylum seekers will be put to the back of the queue when it comes to providing housing. Birmingham CC stated that this was due to sharp rises in homelessness due to the recession.
Currently nearly 200 homes are being given to "Asylum seekers" that are being processed by the UK Border Agency. But the contract with UKBA will be ended, because the CC cannot cope with with the 8,000 requests for housing from Birmingham residents.
The council has come to the common sense conclusion that it must put its own before hoards of so called asylum seekers. The same asylum seekers that have travelled through the safe states of europe, but instead have chosen soft touch Britain. Well hopefully not any more, Birmingham CC i salute you for doing the RIGHT thing. And lets hope that other Councils follow suit.
